The camp life of Huazhong University of science ans technology

HUST is a residential university with over 60,000 students living on campus. Students have access not only to extraordinary campus resources but also to “OpticalValley” recreation and outdoor attractions.

Living and learning are intimately intertwined at HUST. HUST provides you clubs & associations, health & recreation, banks & post office, culture festival, science festival, international festival as well as studying, housing, dining, transportation.

Dining:

There are many student dinning rooms besides the three Muslin canteens, including Yunyuan, Xue1, Xue2, East 3, East 4, EastGardenand Dongli in the east of the campus, West1, West2, Baijing, Xiyuan andBaihuiGardenin the west of the campus. The food appeals extremely to our appetite and so does the environment.

Bakery, café and Canteen are also in great number inside the campus and they also provide delicious and inexpensive food to students.

Supermarket & Ji Mao

There are several supermarkets for students in each district, most of which locate just around the student dormitories and dinning rooms. Those supermarkets offer a complete list of goods with all kinds of stationeries and daily necessities available. Ji Mao is a big market for food, clothing, hardware, software, kitchen utensils, goods repairing and etc. In additional, Carrefour & Wal-Mart are also adjacent to our university.

Bank  and post office

There are branch offices of the Industrial and Commercial Bank, the Agricultural Bank, the Merchants’ Bank, the Construction Bank and the Bank of China on the main Campus. On the Yunyuan, there are also branch offices of the Credit Cooperating Bank of Chinaand the Industrial and Commercial Bank. At present using the pass cards of the Industrial and Commercial Bank and the Agricultural Bank can pay the tuition fees and generally the granting of scholarships are being handled in the branch offices of the Industrial and Commercial Bank and the Agricultural Bank, so you can transact pass books in them. Besides, the post office can also deal with postal deposit.

Both beside the branch office of the Industrial and Commercial Bank on the Main Campus and beside the gate of the Yunyuan parks a post office, in which you can receive remittances, home or abroad correspondences ans packages. You must show your ID card, both when receiving remittances and packages, and the new students can instead use the student cards if without issued with ID cards but have to go to the department to issue certificates.
