The dialog of TAKE a TAXI

sī jī nǐ hǎo nǐ qù nǎ lǐ

好,

Driver: Hello! Where are you going?

jié kè nǐ hǎo wǒ qù diàn yǐng yuàn

Jack: Hello! I want to go to the movie theater.

sī jī zhī dào diàn yǐng yuàn zài nǎ lǐ

Driver: I don’t know where it is.

jié kè zài wǔ yí lù bā yí lù lù kǒu

Jack: At the intersection of Wu Yi Rd and Ba Yi Rd.

1. when you want to say “go to somewhere” you can use the structure “qù+somewhere

2. when you want to say “ I don’t know+something” you can say “ zhī dào+something

3. lù kǒu means intersection.

sī jī qián mian de lù kǒu zuǒ zhuǎn ma

Driver: Turn left at the intersection?

jié kè yòu zhuǎn

Jack: No. Turn right.

4. Turn left= zuǒ zhuǎn

5. Turn right= yòu zhuǎn

sī jī diàn yǐng yuàn dào le tíng zài mén kǒu hǎo bu hǎo

Driver: Here we are. Can we stop in front of the theater?

jié kè hǎo de duō shǎo qián

Jack: Ok. How much?

sī jī 23 kuài

Driver: 23 yuan.

jié kè wǒ yào fā piào xiè xiè

Jack: I want the receipt. Thanks.

sī jī gěi nǐ fā piào zài jiàn

Driver: Here is the receipt. Bye.

6. Use “hǎo bu hǎo” or “hǎo ma” at the end of your sentence to ask if it is ok. And you can answer it with “hǎo”(Ok) or bu” (No).

7. duō shǎo qián means how much.

8. kuài” and “yuan means RMB. If you want to say US dollar that is měi yuán”.ōu yuán” is Euro.

9. When you want to say“I want+something” you can say “wǒ yào+something .

10. fā piào” means the receipt.
