Learn Chinese Feng shui

In learning Chinese culture, you can find that Chinese people value feng shui a lot. Historically,  feng shui was widely used to orient buildings and significant structures such  as tombs, dwellings and other structures—in an auspicious manner. Depending on  the particular style of feng shui being used, an auspicious site could be  determined by reference to local features such as bodies of water, stars, or a  compass. Feng shui was suppressed in China during the Cultural Revolution in  the 1960s, but since then has increased in popularity.

Maybe your Chinese  teachers have told you that by no means will the Chinese let their ancestral  graves locate casually, because most of the Chinese firmly believe that the  location of a family’s ancestral grave seriously influence the fortune of the  family members. Modern feng shui is not always looked at as a superstitious  scam. Many people believe it is important and very helpful in living a  prosperous and healthy life, and they are willing to pay a high price to the  Feng Shui master to get an auspicious site. Many of the higher-level forms of  feng shui are not easily practiced without having connections in the community  or a certain amount of wealth because hiring an expert, altering architecture  or design, and moving from place to place requires a significant financial  output. This leads some people of the lower classes to lose faith in feng shui,  saying that it is only a game for the wealthy. Others, however, practice less  expensive forms of feng shui, including hanging special (but cheap) mirrors,  forks, or woks in doorways to deflect negative energy.

In Chinese  learning, you can find sometimes the Chinese are fairly superstitious. Although  there is no empirical evidence that this practice is in any way effective, feng  shui is so important to some people that they use it for healing purposes, for  example, to guide their businesses and create a peaceful atmosphere in their  homes. Feng shui masters are hired to analyze Trump Towers and to decide  whether a place is auspicious or not. At Singapore Polytechnic and other  institutions, many students (including engineers and interior designers) take  courses on feng shui every year and go on to become feng shui consultants. The  Feng Shui Excellence Award is awarded to home and business owners that have  achieved a high level of feng shui excellence and have experienced the results  of the changes they have made.
