XMU Robot team won the champion in IRHOCS 2015

In the 2015 International Robot Hands-on Competition & Symposium (IRHOCS2015) recently held in Taiwan University, the robot team from Xiamen University (XMU) took the crown. Under the supervision of IEEE, the competition was hosted byInternational Center of Excellence in Intelligent Robotics and Automation Research (NTU-iCeiRA), Taiwan University.


Themission of the competition is to

•nature students to be engineering leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based robotic competition.

•Inspire teachers and students with robot related innovation.

•Nurture the next generation Automation Intelligent engineers

•Provide a high-end robotic competition for college students and team up student around the world.

The challenges for the robot include automatically finding the basketball in the ring, dribbling past the obstacles, passing ball and shooting.

The champion is the first one that XMU robot team won in an international competition, but in 2015 XMU robot team also won other competitions, such as Eastern China based ROBOMASTERS in May, ROBOCON in June and ROBOCUP in October, among which ROBOCUP winning is a streak of 3 wins.
