Culture Promotion Activities Held by UKiM-SWUFE Confucius Institute

In November, Macedonia has embraced a series of events featuring Chinese culture hosted by UKiM-SWUFE Confucius Institute, aiming to deepen the cultural tie between China and Macedonia.

The cultural promotion activities kicked off on November 5th, the day when the 20th anniversary of Sino-Macedonia Friendship Association was celebrated. In the opening ceremony, Suzanne Spasovska, a respectable Macedonian female singer and member of UKiM-SWUFE CI, has sang the Macedonian and the Chinese national song in their own language, greatly impressing the audience. At the meeting afterwards, SMFA President Koroba highly acclaimed CI’s efforts in producing Chinese language specialists and hoped for more work will be done by CI to promote culture exchange between Macedonia and China.

On November 9th, Confucius, a large-scale original dance drama by China National Opera & Dance Drama Theater was on stage in Macedonian National Theatre, which builded a bridge between Macedonian people and the great ancient Chinese philosopher Confucius (551-479 BC).

On November 18th, MACHINA Chairwoman Danela Arsovska and her delegation paid a visit to UKiM-SWUFE Confucius Institute. In her meeting with CI representatives, she made an invitation to CI for activities hosted by MACHINA and its member meeting. She also hoped that the two parties can collaborate in language, culture, management training, economic research and publication. Chinese Dean Deng Shizhong briefed them on CI’s mission, institute programs and developing goals. “We are glad to strengthen cooperation with MACHINA, promoting the relationship between China and Macedonia both culturally and economically.” Said Dean Deng Shizhong.

Three days later, journalists from новамакедонијa, the most prestigious newspaper in Macedonia, interviewed Dean Deng Shizhong about Chinese character culture and watched Deng’s calligraphic work in person.

November 25th marked NOVE Middle School's yearly Global Day and CI, with its tea performance, calligraphic work exhibition and Chinese flavored snacks, enriched their celebration and gave NOVE members fantastic cultural experience. CI wished that activities like this can give students deeper understanding of China and boost their interest of learning Chinese.
