Chinese man gets world's most diplomas, degrees over 35 years

How many nationally-recognized diplomas can one person obtain? Zhou Baokuan, a 55-year-old Chinese man from Shenyang, obtained nine diplomas.

He obtained three doctorate degrees and two masters degrees over 35 years, and has become the "person with the most diplomas and degrees in the world." He holds nine nationally-recognized diploma qualifications.

Zhou said that he is currently pursuing a doctorate degree at Fudan University and is expected to add his own world record.

"I found out online that the most diplomas and degrees any person has received worldwide was six, while I have already obtained nine," Zhou said.

Therefore, he submitted a world record application to the China World Records Association (CWRA). The CWRA issued Zhou his first world record qualification and confirmed him as the "person with the most (nationally recognized) diplomas and degrees in the world" on July 12.

Afterwards, Zhou declared three more world records and was again confirmed as the "person with the most doctorate degrees and masters degrees in the world," the "person who has studied the most majors in the world," and the "person who wrote the world's first doctoral thesis on sub-health research using Chinese medicine theories."

In order to prove the authenticity of his qualifications, Zhou presented a "certification report of Chinese higher education qualifications" prepared by the National University Student Information Counseling and Occupational Guidance Center. The report shows that except for two diplomas from technical secondary schools, all his other seven diplomas from undergraduate diplomas to doctorate degrees can be found at www.chsi.com.cn.
